The Site Care Plugin

What It Is

Site Care is the small plugin that lets MountDev look after a site on any host. Each site's download is built for your agency: the plugin list shows it as Site Care by your agency.

What It Does

It answers a fixed list of signed requests from your workspace: checking what is installed and waiting to update, running the tested updates, putting an update back when the live site fails its checks after it, emptying caches, a one-click sign in to WordPress, reading its activity log, and the export a backup or a move needs.

What It Never Does

• It never runs code or database queries sent over the network.
• It never uses WP-Cron and never slows visitors.
• It sends no email.
• It keeps no secret a copy of the database could give away: its own key is sealed with a key made from the site's own configuration.

Out of the Way

Requests that are not signed get WordPress's own "not found." While it is connected on a site we do not host, it stays out of the plugin list, menus, and dashboard; on our own hosting it is always hidden and locked. If the service ends, it shows again with Deactivate and Delete.
